NON-CREDIT CLASSES

East 40 has a history of offering a variety of non-credit classes through
NCC's Community Ed

Natural Dyeing from the Ground Up
Learn the basics by hands-on dyeing with natural materials, some of which
you will harvest from the ground during the workshop! Environmentally friendly practices will be used to unlock the magic of historic dyestuffs that have been used
for thousands of years. Organic indigo, madder and other dyestuffs, plus silk, bamboo, wool, and mohair to use them on are provided.
This class is taught by adjunct faculty member Cindy Vojnovic at the East 40,
on the weekend of May 12-14.

Paint from the Ground Up
Make your own paint by working hands-on with natural materials, some found
on the grounds of the East 40 where the workshop will occur! Learn how to
make pigments and how to turn them into various types of paint.
Materials and tools provided.

This class is taught by adjunct faculty member Cindy Vojnovic at the East 40,
on the weekend of May 26-28.

Soft Pretzels

Join us for a culinary adventure and discover soft pretzels. We look at two main kinds: Philadelphia Style and the typical Mall Pretzel Style. Both are awesome - each slightly different in their preparation. We will be "hands on" making both!
This class is taught by Joe Klinkhoff at the Fowler Center, on Jan. 14.

Flatbreads: Naan, Roti, Frybread & Pita
Many cultures have the simplest of breads in their cuisine. Join us as we tour
a variety of different flat breads and see how they differ. We'll make a couple
as we discuss this oldest of breads.

This class is taught by Joe Klinkhoff at the Fowler Center, on Feb. 18.
